Itinerary in Detail

Day 01 : Kathmandu: arrive Kathmandu at Tribhuvan int'l airport, meet and transfer to hotel. Welcome drink . Free. O/n at hotel.

Day 02 : Breakfast at 07:30. A full day Sightseeing tour of :

(i) Patan City:

 

This City, lying 5 km southeast of Kathmandu, is known as the city of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments such as:

a). Patan Durbar Square:

Situated in the heart of the city, constitutes the focus of visiters' attraction. The square is full of ancient palaces, temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite carvings. The Patan Durbar Square consists of three main Chowks or courtyard, a) the central mul chowk, b) Sundari chowk which holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal Bath called Tushahiti.and c) Keshar Narayan Chowk.. It was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.

b). Museum:

Inside the Durbar Square, this museum specializes in bronze statues and religious objects. It is considered as one of the best museum in Asia.

c). Krishna Temple:

This Hindu temple of Lord Krishna holds a commanding position in the palace complex of Patan, built in 1637 AD. It is the only temple in Nepal having 21 spires and is completely made of stone. It is supposed to be the first specimen of Shikhara style architecture in Nepal.

d). Mahabouddha:

A little further east of Durbar Square lies this Buddhist temple made of clay bricks in which thousands of images of Lord Buddha are engraved. The terra-cotta structure is one of the fourteenth century Nepalese architectural masterpieces.

e). Hiranya Varna Mahavihar:

This three story golden pagoda of Lokeshwore (Lord Buddha) was built in the twelfth century by King Bhaskar Verma in which the upper story of the pagoda are the golden images of Lord Buddha and a large pryer wheel. It is famous as the Golden Temple.

f). Rudra Verna Mahavihar:

This unique Buddhist monastery contains an amazing collection of images and statues in metal, stone and wood. It is believed that the kings in the ancient times were crowned in this monastery.

g). Temple of Machchendranath and Minnath:

The pagoda of Red Machchendranath built in 1408 AD. For six months, the deity is taken to its other shrine in Bumgmati. The temple of Minnath is on the way to Red Machchendranath.

h). Patan Industrial Estate:

This industrial Estate is well known for Nepali handicrafts such as wood carvings, metal crafts, carpets and thangka paintings. For convenience of the tourists, there is a shopping arcade where all the handicraft products are exhibited.

(ii) Afternoon, visit Swayambhunath Stupa. This is one of the world's most glorious Budhhist Chaityas, said to be 2000 years old. Painted on the four sides of the spires base are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is 3 km west of Kathmandu city and is situated on a hillaock about 77m above the level of the Kathmandu Valley and hence commands an excellent view of the Valley. The stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal. It was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. Evening free. Dinner. O/N hotel.

Day 03 : After breakfast, visit to:

a). Pashupatinath temple:

The temple of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, is the holiest shrines for million of Hindus, with two tiered golden roof and silver doors. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Baghmati river. This temple was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. Just south of this temple, one can see the last rites of Hindu dead bodies at the cremation site.

b). Guheshwori Temple:

East of Pashupatinath temple, is another historic and holy temple of Guheshwari, Goddess of Eternal Energy. Only Hindus are allowed to entered the temple courtyard.

c). Bouddhanath Stupa:

This ancient colossal Stupa is one of the biggest in the world, and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. This was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.

d). Afternoon, visit Kathmandu Durbar Square.
It is the historic seat of royalty. The square with its old temples and palaces epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. It is here the kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Interesting things to see around here are: Taleju temple, built in 1549 AD by Mahendra Malla king, the temple of Kaal Bhairav (the god of distruction), Nautalle Durbar, Coronation Nasal Chowk, the Gaddi Bhaithak, the statue of King Pratap Malla, the Big Drum and the Jaganath Temple. It was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. There are also the Numismatic Museum and Tribhuvan Museum inside the Durbar, in the vicinity of the Durbar, there is a Kumari temple in which resides the Kumari (Vestal Virgin) or the Living Goddess, who represents a very ancient Hindu deity of Nepal locally known as Taleju, is Buddhist by birth., located near the temple of Kumari, is Kasthamandap (house of wood) which is said to be constructed from wood of a single tree, in the begging of the sixteenth century, the Ashok Vinayak is situated behind the Kasthmandap which is small but very important temple for the Hindus. It is also known as Kathmandu Ganesh or Maru Ganesh. After Kathmandu Durbar Square walk to Thamel Bazar, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. Back to hotel. and O/N.

Day 04 : After breakfast drive to Bhaktapur and visit Bhaktpur Durbar Square, the master piece of architectures and carvings. The Golden Gate, the entrance to the courtyard of the palace is one of the most beautiful and richly carved specimens of its kind in the entire world. Inside the gate, the Palace of 55 Windows is a master piece of wood carving, the stone temple of Batsala Devi is full of intricate carvings, the Lion Gate, the statue of King Bhupatindra malla, the Picture Gallery listed in the UNESCO World Heritage monument in 1979. Further inside, the Nyatapola Temple, Dattatraya Square and Temple are also the centers of attraction.

After Bhaktapur drive to Panauti, a thriving Newari village with beautiful temples and interesting houses. The drive passes through beautiful countryside. Hiking to Namo Buddha, on a hill above Panauti. There is an amazing legend related to the Buddha feeding very hungry clubs and tigress with own flesh which is commemorated by an ancient stone slab and a stupa with the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Back to Dhulikhel and check in to hotel. Sunset viewing and O/N hotel

Day 05 : After breakfast hike to Nagarkot, a cozy, peaceful and popular tourist resort of Nepal at an altitude of 2175m above sea level. The panorama of the major peacks of the eastern Nepal Himalayas including Mt. Everest can be seen from here. It is also famous for Sunrise and Sunset viewing. On arrival check into hotel. Sunset viewing and O/N hotel.

Day 06 : After breakfast drive to Pokhara, a 200km west-south of Ktm.which offers magnificent views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manslu, Mt. Machchapuchchre, five picks of Mt. Annapurna and of course Fewa Lake. On arrival, welcome drinks and check into hotel. Afternoon 01 hour boat ride at Fewa Lake. Evening free. O/N hotel.

Day 07 : After breakfast a full day sightseeing tour of Pokhara covering, World Peace Stupa, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Begnas Lake. Afternoon visit Seti River George, Bindyabashini Temple, Museum, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Davis Falls, Fewa Lake. Evening free for own. Stroll around the lake site, the tourist hub of Pokhara. O/N hotel.

Day 08 : After breakfast drive to Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha. It is the pilgrimage destination of the world's millions of people faithful to all schools of Buddhism. On arrival, welcome drink and check into hotel. Evening visit Sacred Garden, Maya Devi Temple, the Ashokan Pillar, the sacred pond-Puskarni where just before given birth to Buddha, Maya Devi took the bath, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside the park, visit other stupas and monuments built by Shri Lanka, Japan, Myanmar, Korea, India, Germany and many other nations making it as an mini world peace center. O/N hotel.

Day 09 : After breakfast visit the ruins of Tillourakot Durbar, the palace of Suddhodhan, father of Lord Buddha. Afternoon visit Ramgram, Buddha's maternal hometown. Back to hotel. O/N hotel.

Day 10 : After breakfast drive to Indo-Nepal border, Sunauli. Arrive Sunauli border and from there transfer to Kushinagar via Gorakhpur. Arrive Kushinagar and check in to hotel. Overnight at hotel

Day 11 : Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit Kushinagar with English speaking guide. Afternoon leave Kushinagar for Varanasi. Arrive Varanasi and check in to hotel.

Day 12 : Breakfast at hotel. Morning boat ride at Ganga River, S/S of Varanasi. After lunch leave Varanasi for Bodhgaya. Arrive Bodhgaya and check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel..

Day 13 : Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour of Bodhgaya. Afternoon visit of Gaya with English speaking guide. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14 : Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to Gaya railway station to connect train at 0640hrs. for Agra. Arrive Agra at 1930hrs. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15 : Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour of Agra with English speaking guide. Afternoon leave Agra for Delhi arrive Delhi and check in to hotel.

Day 16 : Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour of Old Delhi with English speaking guide. Afternoon city tour of New Delhi with English speaking guide. Overnight at hotel.

Day 17 : Breakfast. Transfer to Airport for Leh - Ladakh flight. On Arrival will be received at Leh airport by our representative and transferred to Hotel. Check-in, welcome tea / coffee at the hotel. Take complete rest on the arrival day to acclimatize yourself to weather conditions. **NO ACTIVITIES** , overnight at Hotel.

Day 18 : After breakfast visit the Shankar Gompa- Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace & Tsomo Gompa. Also visit Leh town which includes visit to Leh market. Visit Hemis Monastery (45 Kms from Leh)- the biggest and the wealthiest in Ladakh. The monastery houses some of the most beautiful statues and antiques. Also visit the beautifully located Thikse monastery, located on hilltop with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thikse has huge statue of Buddha. Lunch break at Café near Thikse (Under own arrangement).

Day 19 : After breakfast visit Shey Palace, the former summer palace of king of Ladakh. Return back to the hotel. In the evening visit Shanti Stupa (Japanese temple) to have a beautiful view of the Leh town during sunset. O/N at hotel.

Day 20 : Day free for visiting PANGONG LAKE at extra cost or the day is free to explore this beautiful destination on your own. Pangong Lake is one of the most beautiful lake in the middle of the Snow capped Himalayas, PANONG Lake at a height of 5486 mt. Leave your hotel at 5 A.M. Take packed breakfast. Pass through Chang La pass. While ascending enjoy beautiful panoramic village views from the pass. Halt for picnic lunch at Tangtse with own expense, land of the Yaks. Reach lake which is 144 Kms long with half of it in China. O/N at Hotel.

Day 21: After breakfast Drive for Khardung La Pass, World’s highest motorable road at 18380 feet (39 Kms. Approx). The feeling of being on top of the world is amazing. You will be greeted with a complimentary cup of tea at the pass served by Indian Army Jawans. You will have an amazing sight throughout the journey. Return to Leh in the afternoon. O/N hotel.

Day 22 :
Breakfast & transfer to airport and fly back to Delhi with sweet memories of Ladakh. Check in to hotel. Free day. O/N hotel.

Day 23 :
Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to airport to connect International flight for onward destination.
